Appeal for the right to life

Appeal for the right to life

Bucharest, 24 August 2012 - European Centre for the Rights of Children with Disabilities (CEDCD) is deeply worried by the situation of the 11 years Down Syndrome girl in Pakistan who faces death penalty for destroying a few pages from the holly book of Islam, the Coran, which is considered a crime by the Pakistani Law, the Blasphemy.

The case of the little Down Syndrome girl has been extensively covered by the international media. However we do not know the further developments of the case.

CEDCD makes an appeal to the UN Departments in charge with promoting and protecting children rights and persons with disabilities rights to further monitor the case and to advocate for the life of the little Down Syndrome girl – a fundamental and unalienable right.
