SPINNING FOR DISABILITY

Bucharest, the 4thof December 2012.The European Centre for the Rights of Children with Disabilities (CEDCD) and the Association for Dravet and other Rare Epilepsies organized Sunday, the 2ndof December 2012 in Plaza Romania, Spinning for Disability sports event, with World Class Club Romania support and SENSIBLU.

Over 60 people attended the event CEDCD organized on the occasion of the International Day of Disability, competing directly in the spinning marathon relay type, supporting their loved ones or assisting with the joy of people who have chosen to devote at least three hours for a cause: the rights of children with disabilities.

Parents, children with disabilities, supporters or people from the audience have given an important signal on the Spinning Marathon for Disability: participation means solidarity and solidarity means respect for diversity.

As a token of appreciation for the fair-play gesture and solidarity, the participants have received from the organizers T-shirts inscribed with the message of the event and diplomas.

Background information

Spinning for Disability is an event designed as an expression for overcoming prejudice and barriers through sport. The audience, supporters and the parents of children with disabilities all cycled together in a gesture of fair-play and each relay took forward the message of respect for the rights of children with disabilities.

The Spinning Marathon for Disability is a statement of vindication, a symbolic gesture of solidarity with the rights of a vulnerable category such as children with disabilities.
